StandPro Setup

Assemble your StandPro, power it on, connect to Wi-Fi, and register it with your Nizam dashboard.

Before setting up the physical device, make sure your Nizam account is active and your StandPro unit has been registered online. The setup process takes about 10–15 minutes from unboxing to accepting your first donation.

What's in the Box#

Your StandPro ships with everything you need to assemble and start accepting donations:

  • Touchscreen tablet — the 21.5" portrait display that donors interact with
  • Connecting rod — the vertical pole that mounts the screen to the base
  • Mobile base — the rolling base with wheels for easy repositioning
  • Hex screws — for securing the rod to the screen and base
  • Hex key (Allen key) — the T-handle tool for driving the screws
  • Charging cable — for powering the device

The Stripe M2 card reader comes pre-attached to the tablet — no separate pairing or installation needed.

Assembly#

1

Prepare the screen

Place the touchscreen face down on the foam that came in the packaging. This protects the display while you work on the back.

2

Attach the rod to the screen

Insert the connecting rod into the mounting slot on the back of the screen. Secure it with the hex screws using the included hex key. Make sure the screws are fully tightened before moving on.

3

Attach the base to the rod

With the screen still face down, connect the mobile base to the bottom of the rod. Use an alternating screw pattern — tighten one screw partially, then move to the opposite side, and repeat until all screws are fully seated.

Base seating

The base doesn't always sit completely flush at first. Screws can feel tight before they're fully driven in. Use the alternating pattern and keep tightening until the base sits flat against the rod with no gap.

4

Stand it up

Carefully stand the assembled StandPro upright. Give it a gentle shake to confirm everything is secure — the screen shouldn't wobble or shift on the rod.

Button Layout#

The StandPro has two buttons and the Stripe M2 card reader on the same side of the device:

  • Power button — controls the device itself, like shutting down or booting up a computer
  • On button — controls the screen display
  • Stripe M2 reader — connected via a black cable plugged into the side of the tablet

Donors tap or insert their card on the reader, which faces outward for easy access.

Powering On#

1

Connect the charging cable

Plug in the charging cable. While the StandPro has a built-in battery, connecting to power ensures uninterrupted operation for permanent installations like a masjid lobby.

2

Hold the Power button

Press and hold the Power button on the rear of the device for 5 seconds. The Nizam logo appears on screen as the device boots up.

3

Verify the Stripe M2 reader

Once the screen is on, check that the Stripe M2 card reader's LEDs are active. See the status light reference below to confirm the reader is connected and ready.

Stripe M2 Reader Status Lights#

The Stripe M2 card reader has a row of four LEDs that indicate the reader's current state.

LED PatternMeaning
Scanning back and forthReader is on and awaiting a connection
Flashing 3 timesReader is connected
1st and 4th LEDs solidReader is in bootloader mode
All LEDs dimReader is in standby mode
Flashing every 0.1s for 30 secondsReader tampered
1st and 4th LEDs solid for 30 secondsReader integrity check failed

Tamper or integrity warnings

If the reader shows a tamper or integrity check failed pattern, contact Nizam support immediately at support@nizam.co. Do not attempt to reset or continue using the reader.

Connecting to Wi-Fi#

The StandPro runs in kiosk mode, so Wi-Fi settings require a button sequence to access. Once in network settings, select Add Network, choose your Wi-Fi network, and enter the password. The StandPro remembers saved networks and reconnects automatically.

Registering the Device#

Once the StandPro is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi, the screen displays a QR code. Scan this code with your phone and follow the prompts to register the device with your Nizam dashboard.

Monitoring#

Enable 24/7 monitoring for StandPro units that are expected to be on at all times — a lobby kiosk, for example. When monitoring is enabled, you'll be alerted if the device goes offline unexpectedly, so you can investigate and restore service quickly.

Leave monitoring off for StandPro units that are only powered on during events or specific hours.

Info Mode#

Press the top left corner of the screen 5 times to enter info mode. This screen shows battery status, device information, and connection details. You can also trigger a card reader update from here if needed.

Device Status and Retiring#

Once registered, your StandPro is tracked as Online, Offline, or Retired. Devices with donation history can be retired (not deleted) to preserve records. See Device Lifecycle for full details.
